In the summer of 1982, my freshman year of high school, I started out as a laborer for my father’s (James E. Holson) company. We specialized in sheet metal roofing and were located just outside Washington, D.C. in Prince George’s County, Maryland. During many years of hard work learning a very rewarding trade, my father taught me a lot about the business. Two of his phrases that have always stuck in my head are:
“DO THE JOB RIGHT, OR DON’T DO IT AT ALL.”
“TREAT PEOPLE’S HOMES AS IF THEY WERE YOUR OWN.”
Being one of fourteen children (ten girls and four boys), my father and my mother, “Patsy” Holson, did a great job raising and providing for us. When I started my own family in 2003, I decided to open my own construction company.
Although sheet metal roofing will always flow in my veins, we’ve expanded to broader areas of the construction field. Our specialty areas include everything from commercial property management to insurance claim repairs, from additions to renovations, whether they’re small or large.
Using the values on which I was raised and my knowledge of this trade, I feel confident in challenging any project that heads our way.
Sincerely,
Michael W. Holson
